Ms. McCarty's first graders are studying the human body. They have learned that there are 206 bones in the body, that our bones support our body, and that the bones are connected by joints. Our ribcage protects our organs.
They also had a visit from a physical therapist, Ryan Ruben. He discussed his career and how long it took to become a physical therapist. The students made xrays of their hands and created some edible skeletons. They are enjoying learning about the human body.
