Good evening 8th Grade Parents, this message is for those with students traveling to DC on Wednesday, May 8: Students need to arrive at school between 1:45 and 2:15 am. Buses will depart at 3:00. All luggage will be searched by school personnel prior to leaving. Please remember to bring a packed lunch in a disposable bag. All medications should be placed in a Ziplock bag and clearly labeled with the student’s name. Medications will be given to the bus chaperone when the student arrives at school. Please pack a rain poncho or jacket. Rain is in the forecast. If you are traveling with us and leaving a car at the school, please park along the chain link fence. Can’t wait to travel!

Good evening. This is a reminder that Jackson County Schools is hosting two events tomorrow evening showcasing our students’ talents. The county Art Show will begin right after school at Ravenswood Middle and the Elementary Track Championship meet will begin at 5:00 p.m. at Ripley High School. The cost of admission to the track meet is $1.00. Additional parking is available at Ripley Elementary School. Thank you and have a wonderful evening.

Good evening RMS Parents, Our STARS & YANA clubs have been holding a supply drive this week for the Jackson County Animal Shelter. Students are encouraged to bring in items for their cats, dogs, and cleaning needs. The shelter really needs Dog Chow food and kitty litter too. The Homeroom with the most donations come Monday, May 6th will be rewarded an ice cream sundae party. If parents want to drop off items to the front office, please mark your child's name and homeroom teachers name on it so his/her Homeroom can get credit. Good afternoon RMS 7th grade parents,7th Grade students received a permission slip to attend the field trip to Columbus Zoo on May 23, 2024. These permission slips need to be turned in no later than May 1, 2024. If you child does not return their permission slip by the stated date they will be unable to attend. Good morning. Jackson County Schools will operate on a Non-Traditional Instructional Day on Friday, April 12, 2024. Students will not report to school but will need to complete their third non-traditional instruction day packet. Transportation personnel and school-based personnel will report on a two-hour delay.

Jackson County Schools will be dismissing two and one-half hours early due to severe weather entering our region beginning at 3:00 p.m. According to the National Weather briefing at 10:00 a.m. this morning - tornado warnings, large-size hail, and heavy winds have been predicted. All buses will arrive at their stops two and 1/2 hours early. I apologize for this inconvenience and your understanding of this matter. Please stay safe.

Good evening RMS Parents, the next two days RMS students will be taking the Math and ELA iReady diagnostic. As always we encourage students to be in attendance and give best efforts. Each students goal is to improve scores from earlier in the year. Students will be awarded an incentive opportunity the next two days in the afternoon if they meet their particular goal of increasing scores or on their appropriate grade level. The incentive consists of some reward time with an inflatable obstacle course and slide. Thank you and have a great evening!

Good evening. On April 8, 2024, Jackson County will experience a Solar Eclipse with a magnitude of 94.7%. The height of the eclipse will be around 3:13 p.m., coinciding with dismissal times for many of our schools. Jackson County Schools has taken a proactive approach to this occurrence by purchasing special glasses for our students so they can experience this spectacular event, which will not occur again until 2044. Last week, guardians should have received a letter from our school system explaining the procedures we have in place for the eclipse as safety is always our top concern.
